I have a good story for you that’ll hit your inbox this weekend, never fear. But! I’m excited to tell you that I’ll be a part of a big live show in Raleigh later this fall. My friends at The Rialto theater have put together a night of extreme North Carolina-ness, featuring:
Jaki Shelton Green, North Carolina’s poet laureate (damn!)
Kate Rhudy, singer-songwriter (whoa!)
Cliff Bumgardner, filmmaker and Maximum Overdrive enthusiast (geez!)
Liz Pardue, storyteller (wow!)
And, also, me.
Have I figured out exactly what I’m gonna be doing? No! Don’t ask me yet! I work best on deadline, and this particular deadline is seven weeks away, so I’ll figure it out seven weeks from now. That said, am I going to get on stage and try to name all 100 counties in alphabetical order? Probably not? Will I recount the time that I rode in an elevator with Pat McCrory and neglected to step on his toes? No? Will I try to bench press 400 pounds worth of North Carolina Gazeeters? Not if I don’t start training today!

Will I be hanging out before and after? Probably! There are places to grab food and a drink right next door. Holler at me if you’re coming and we’ll all figure something out.
