This morning I woke up and remembered that the NFL Hall of Fame Game is tonight.

Then I remembered the Carolina Panthers are playing in it.

THEN I remembered that the Panthers haven’t played in the Hall of Fame Game since their inaugural season in 1995.

AND THEN I remembered that a picture from that game ended up on the front of a video game. In the 31 years since, it’s the only time a Carolina Panther has made the cover of Madden.

So yes, that’s your trivia question. Who’s the only Panther to make the cover of Madden? Not Cam Newton. Not Steve Smith. Not Greg Olsen. Not Jake Delhomme. Nope.

The only Carolina Panther to get a Madden Cover is … a seemingly random guy who got cut before ever playing a regular season game. His identity was a bit hard to find. But years ago, I figured out who it was, and tracked him down.

His name is Cary Brabham.
