Three pitmasters would greet visitors on the tarmac:. One with Eastern style barbecue, one with Lexington style, and one with brisket. Visitors are asked to choose one. Visitors who choose Eastern or Lexington style are quickly berated by the other pitmaster, but allowed to pass. Visitors who choose brisket are sent immediately to jail. Visitors who opt out bc they are vegan are sent to Asheville.

I think you have to win a NASCAR race to get those.

They used to give out free packs in the Winston tent. Went to The Winston All Star race with a buddy who wanted some free smokes so he talked me into going though the tent with him so I could give him my free pack too. I didn't realize they also light one up for you. I took it and tried to give it a good puff but swallowed the smoke and started turning every shade of purple.

Years ago when I was at NC State a friend from "off" had never had grits before. During a visit to IHOP, and after some convincing, he ordered "a grit." The staff took it to heart and brought him one grit on a plate surrounded by whip cream.
