A new lawsuit is trying to overturn state laws that made it harder for students in Boone to have a voice in county politics. Who created those laws? A proud and powerful App State grad, that's who.
I’m a student at App State and I’ve spent time registering my peers to vote every fall for the last 3 years. These kids do know the local issues- they understand that the price of housing is crushing everyone, that overdevelopment is crushing the local environment, etc. They live here at least 8 months out of the year for at least 4 years, and have every right to be represented by politicians that have their interests in mind during that time.
Well, I'm not so sure how many students would actually vote and participate in the elections, but judging by the number of drunk students I see at the football games, I'm doubtful many are actually aware of local political issues.

You are absolutely right, Jack Yordy. Thank you for speaking up
